“Promise me you…

“Promise me you’ll always remember: you’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”
-Christopher Robin to Pooh

Isn’t it funny to think that the deepest and most meaningful quotes come from children’s tales?

I think this is something that we forget about all too quickly…When a crisis comes by, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the intensity and fear of the moment and forget about our ability to deal with the situation at hand. But the fact of the matter is, all we ever need to get through a troubling situation is the belief in our own ability to pull through and always come out on top. When we get caught up in a situation that we don’t know how to deal with, all it feels like is that we’re quite possibly, the most unlucky people in the world and that nothing could EVER happen to bring us out of our misery. But, the one thing that people seem to forget is that it’s simply an issue of mind of matter…everything that we’ll ever need to resolve a crisis is always given to us, and (as silly as it sounds) the one thing we have to do is BELIEVE in ourselves; that is, believe in our ability to be able to handle the problem as well as any other person around and believe in our ability to hold our heads up high the whole way through. The truth is, life goes on…it keeps pushing forward, relentless in its desire to keep up with the flow of time…in the same way, the best thing we can ever hope to do is trust in our abilities to keep pushing forward and looking for a solution to the matter at hand. Does this answer anything? Does this even help anyone dealing with a crisis? It depends…on the person. But the thing is, believing in oneself when the going gets tough is really all that keeps the tough going.

Music for the Soul

So, as my weariness overwhelms me, I think a short post is in order…Here are the top 5 songs that I can’t stop thinking about…

1. Counting Stars- One Republic (seriously, is there anything One Republic can’t do?)

2. Pumpin’ Blood-NONONO (it grows on you, i promise you)

3. Vienna-Billy Joel (old but gold)

4. Wrecking Ball-Miley Cyrus (She’s crazy, we all know it…but there’s something so heartfelt and meaningful in this song that I think it deserves to be loved by everyone; it’s also one of the few songs in which you can actually FEEL the raw pain of the artist) Oh, and while you’re at it, listen to her rendition of “Jolene”…it’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard

5. Demon-Imagine Dragons (no.words)
